Cummins Onan has a full range of portable generators, they come in sizes designed from a small unit to bring power with you camping to a large commerical duty unit to run power tools in the field:

The inverter units are slightly more advanced technolgy, where a normal unit uses mechanical means to create electricity from the engine movement, the invertor takes that raw power and uses a microchip to further refine it and convert it to a more pure AC power wave. This also has the added benefit of less moving parts, all in all you end up with less noise, less fuel burned, and a better source of power - which can be important for sensitive products such as electronics. Less can be more as well, when you consider that the smallest model weighs only 43 lbs!

The commerical grade generators are even larger - starting at just under 5kW, and going up to 12kW. These units are sometimes built without casing, and can be designed for use similar to RV generators as well - finding them in fire trucks, large work trucks, some long-haul trailers and other similar pieces of equipment.
